Similar but unrelated, but this has kinda happened to me with a "close friend". I considered him like a brother and he went behind my back and hung out with an ex of mine that I still had feelings for.

Technically he/they didn't do anything wrong, but it was a dick move. Clearly, I was a better friend to him than he was to me.
