The bad guy from Karate Kid III.

Sorry OP, that sucks. Hope you find it.

Some of yesterday's essentials on attractive people. by toiletcakein malefashionadvice

[–]toiletcake[S] 1 point2 points ago

At a Cannes Q&A Alec Baldwin and Captain Kirk Jr. show off a couple essentials from yesterday's infographic. Noteworthy:

Flawless casual with a suit. Tie-less with perfect unbuttoned collar structure. Metal watch. Belt-less. Fun socks, pocket square, and brown shoes.

Jack Donaghy in 3 pieces from the first line of the infographic. White shirt, blazer, mid-grey wool pants. Tie-less. Great collar to lapel lines. Unbutton a button on the cuffs and wear sockless loafers and it looks pretty comfy.

And the piece de resistance of a redhead in a black dress between them. sigh

Sorry, first pic needs that shirt tucked in. Personally I'm not feeling that jacket as a standalone jacket, matched buttons and all.

Second pic looks pretty cool, it's a flattering cut for you IMHO. The tie is a little reservoir dogs, especially with the jacket open. The pants could be shorter to match the jacket's length too but all in all it's good.

Ah, yeah, the whole khaki chino thing, sorry. Watches though...

It's the one accessory or piece of jewelry a man can legitimately wear with no qualms. And, as a corollary it's a significant missed style opportunity. I mean in summer you've only got like what, 5 pieces including belt and watch in some outfits.

It's nicer when talking to someone than pulling out your phone, even if to check the time.

They're pretty cool. Something about having something insanely complex, miniature, yet completely mechanical all buttoned up and encased from view is fun to think about it.

Absolutely.

Thoughts on working cuffs and more to the point would you roll back the sleeves on a jacket? by smartdapperin malefashionadvice

[–]toiletcake 2 points3 points ago

His accessory scale is up in Amber Alert territory. Some good stuff there though.

edit: I have two jackets with real cuffs. One's a suit so engh. The other is a Jack Wills so the lining is their pink and navy stripe. I've turned them out once on a drunken party boat but don't know if I'd do it again (the boat or the sleeves for that matter).

Shoe recommendations? by par_is_fivein malefashionadvice

I'm pretty sure I can't pull off bucs

You're already there man with strands and wingtips. They're just shoes and TBH they're fun to wear. I can't recommend these enough.

Check out jdbee's recent two infographics for some inspiration.

It's not boot season in the US, but there isn't any on your list. These Wolverines are the best things I've ever put on my feet.

IMHO you should really try them on or go through a place that offers free returns.

They fit odd for me. I'm an 9.5 on the CDB scale and went for weeks to the store trying on those and nothing ever felt right. 8E's, 9 regular, really tight heel vs. roomy in the toes, etc.

Tucked or untucked? by steu4718in malefashionadvice

Tucked. Looks good. Belt could be more fun though.

PTO had a thing the other week. I'd imagine in the UK it should be easy to score an authentic cheap pair.

I laughed.

Yeah dude the shorts need to go, sorry. It may hurt at first but it'll be better in the long run.

JT's fit is top-tier. If you're buying off the rack shirts (which is fine) you should grab something you like that fits well in the shoulders and sleeves and factor in $15 for alterations if needed. IMHO one shirt that fits perfect is worth a closet of ones that don't.

The balls get used to it, it's not that bad. Ex-Officio give-n-go boxer briefs.

Good luck,

Their returns are top notch. Like, used and a year later they'll take an item back, albiet you're on the hook for shipping.

IMHO their shirts are a little billowy for someone with that waist to chest ratio. If you get it you should get it taken in.
