Here's what did it for me: the idea that smoking doesn't actual feel good, it just temporarily calms the stress your body goes through from being addicted. I used to enjoy smoking a cigarette because it felt relaxing and good. It was hard for me to even want to quit because I genuinely enjoyed smoking my cigarettes.

But Allan Carr likens cigarette addiction to wearing shoes that are way too small and hurt you feet. Smoking a cigarette is like slipping off those uncomfortable shoes for a minute or two. It relives the pain momentarily, but almost immediately after your cigarette is over, that pain returns. When you finally quit smoking, it's like taking those shoes off for good. Your body returns to normal, your blood pressure lowers and you won't be in that constant state of discomfort.

I really really hope this makes sense. I'm around an [8] and those were a lot of words.

I don't really see it as overpriced. It's definitely more expensive, but you get what you pay for: using real ingredients (no HFCS or artificial colors/flavors) makes for a tastier ice cream, that costs a little more.

I'm in the same boat but I still feel like it's pretty frugal.

I used to game primarily on Xbox360 before getting a decent gaming computer. I would spend 50-60 dollars on most newer games and on top of that was paying for Xbox live. Yesterday I purchased Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, Psychonauts and Unreal Tournament all for under 10 dollars. I already have a huge library full of games that might not get a ton of play time, but everything was bought on sale (at least 50% off if not more). I only buy during the big holiday sales, and I usually spend way less than 60 dollars during each sale.

So where I used to spend 50-60 dollars on one Xbox game, 50 or 60 dollars on steam can get me 10 or 12 games and a seemingly infinite amount of play time! That's how I justify it anyways :)

Yep, I've followed this trend a lot lately. Steam will usually put older franchise games on sale, to promote the new game coming out. When the new Deus Ex games came out, I bought the first two for crazy cheap. When Akrham City came out, I used that opportunity to pick up Arkham Asylum.

Similar to the OP, I picked up Oblivion the day Skyrim came out. 25 hours deep :)

I can't recommend this game enough. I beat it once, and then beat it all over again to get the rest of the achievements. It's the first game in forever, that I've just played twice in a row without starting another game first.

The narration is the selling point and it's awesome, but Bastion is also a very solid beat-em up/RPG with tons of weapons, spells and upgrades. It has 3 different bonus level type horde-modes (tied seamlessly into the game) and each weapon has its own mini-game tied to it. After you beat each level in the main part of the storyline you get to upgrade the Bastion which gives you access to even more unlockables. Awesome soundtrack, awesome art style. The replay value is high with this one!!

Is this game good with 2 players? I'm usually able to get a group together, but often my girlfriend and I will play a game or two by ourselves before going to bed. Some games are just as fun with only 2 players but some lose their magic when it's just one on one.

I always look at it as "I'll get to them eventually, once I finish the good ones", but the truth is there will be another Steam sale or Humble Bundle and I'll just get some more "good" games and more games to put on the backburner. After the Autumn Sale I'm going to put myself on a buying hiatus and just try to get through what I own.
