I don't understand how you and your SO playing portal together is special time where us playing card games together or sharing a drink on the balcony together is not...

Edit: re-reading your post it sounds like the difference is frequency. We have this time pretty much daily so it doesn't seem as special... Right? I personally don't agree with that idea, but I understand what you mean.

Edit: sex life is solid. 4 times a week on average. And the night this whole issue came up we had great spontaneous sex on the couch after dinner.

Her two main hobbies are cooking and decorating. I will sit nearby and talk to her while she cooks and when she let's me, I help chop things up and taste stuff to make sure it tastes good. Decorating she likes me to be available for the "do you like this lamp?" and "how about this wall hanging?" questions. She looks up color schemes, items, and DIY stuff on her laptop, usually during the after dinner movie/TV time. Maybe I should ask her to stop? She hasn't actually started any of the DIY projects she wants to do. I will encourage her to start.

Just curious how frequently do you two get it on? I have sex with my gf pretty regularly (3 - 4 times a week) but its almost always on her schedule and if I pass a chance up and I go 2+ days without I start getting antsy. I feel this "basically whenever you want" thing is a myth.

Old enough that I shouldn't have to ask reddit about this. Mid 20s. Had a few long relationships. 1 cheated on me. Despite this seemingly stupid post we're doing great and I'm really happy. I've already apologized and agreed that if it's urgent I call twice and she'll answe, not text. Otherwise i'll call once or leave a text and not worry about.... aka come home with just one order of sushi.

Me expecting her to be available 100% is what you put in my mouth and is a gross simplification of the situation. I want to stress that my main point was I guess having my SO ignore (not miss, ignore) a call from me hurt my feelings because I know if I were having me time or a guys night out I would still answer if I saw her call coming in. I felt a lack of reciprocity concerning that situation and it bothered me. I realize I overreacted and I think you all are right. We are not the same person and she does have trouble with sleep. I see that. But i think calling my initial butt-hurt reaction without thinking it all the way through being clingy is unfair.

Wow you're totally putting words into my mouth. I called her got no answer went about my day. Came home, later asked her how her nap was. She said she didn't sleep. I assumed she was asleep when I called. She said no she just didn't answer. Everybody here is right. If it was important I woul have called back. It just struck me that she saw my call and didn't pick up. Often I don't get ahold of her right away. Often because her phone is silent and she doesn't hear it or any number of reasons.No problem. It was the seeing it and deciding not to answer that struck me a bit.
