This is really smart - the only downside I can think of is the extra work of negotiating a used sale where you dont get stuck with a lemon and also the cash outlay for buying the used vehicle/trailer (although you pulled it off for around the same as what it would have cost to have ABF ship it to you!).

You should've sold tickets to the event in advance. Not only does that force people to commit for sure, but makes it easier to budget for things like food, a dj etc. Plus seeing other people having bought tickets would probably get more people to get tickets themselves as well, so you get a bit of momentum on that front.

I'd never pay face for tickets to a music festival. Just wait till right before the weekend of and you can probably score em for half price. They print like a billion tickets (esp Randall's island). I d probably ditch the ferry as well - its a rip off and takes forever if you intend to stay till the end of the show. There will probably be free buses or just hop onto the gypsy cab or even hoof it. It's not unusual for the ferry lines to take up to 3 hours (after the event) to get everyone off the island.

It's like a banh mi -although to be really specific (since redditors tend to know their geography) they are Cambodian. I stumbled onto their midtown location after a happy hour at the bar next door and it's in my top 5 for NYC sandwiches. Was super happy when i found out they had a union sq location.They have some amazing meat combinations and that sandwich bread is just perfect.

If you live in a city with an indoor arena or multi purpose sports facility, see if you can get a gig as part of their "conversion crew" to convert it from say ice hockey to basketball etc. These tend to be extremely freelance in nature and you are getting a decent workout (why spend 2 hrs in a gym when you can get paid for working out?). Also usually happens late night so could work with your schedule.
