The main event is where we will see the tablet/what Google's latest products will be.

No carrier is as controlling as Verizon - especially in the rest of the world (which this article suggests Google are also trying to sell in). These won't be carrier-branded, especially if you buy directly from Google.

Remember how the Nexus One worked. HTC made the Nexus One, then they made the HTC Desire with the same internals for their own branded device. The same will happen here - each manufacturer will make a Nexus device and then an own-branded device with the same specifications with maybe slight modifications.
