Nothing here is novel or non-obvious. This is just how political stories are often framed in the media, because it sells copy. Moreover, this is all about HEADLINES. Sub-editors write the headlines, not the journalists. A story might be perfectly legitimate, but the sub-editor has employed one of these 5 tropes to sell the story. That doesn't make the story BS, it's just how political coverage works.

I'm from the UK, and I've seen this before at shows. I can't remember the sculptor's name, but he makes models out of industrial things. Nuts and bolts, cogs, and general bits of metal. He solders it all together, and makes amazing models out of it. The Alien one is one of his more popular creations, for obvious reasons.

I think Pink Floyd have something to do with it. Certain parts of "The Wall" are similar to this. People instantly assume Pink Floyd = Drugs therefore Pink Floyd visuals = LOLOL PEOPLE ON DRUGS.
