Well, no, not all companies. But I like Blizzard and I hold them to a higher standard than other companies.

I never had any reason to believe D3 was a different beast than D1 and D2, which weren't online games unless you wanted multiplayer.

I never had a reason to believe this because they didn't call it "World of Diablo" or "Diablo Online" and they never emphasized this aspect of it. It is a fundamentally different beast.

I never had any reason to believe that a company like Blizzard would just say "internet connection required" only in the "requirements" section, without any follow up as to what that means. (I would have assumed just for multi-player, since D1 and D2 worked that way)

this will be a learning experience for you.

Hopefully it will be for Blizzard too.

At the end of the day, they let me down. I mean, I won't trust them again. They lost some customer loyalty with me. And with tons of others, too. Mostly for not being able to play it on the big release day, when everyone is excited and just can't wait.

Now, you can say I don't have a right to be pissed at them -- that it's my fault -- but it doesn't matter. Many, many people are indeed pissed at them, because of the decisions they made, and the way they went about things, have kept them from playing the game on the big day.

It's Blizzard. They make some of the best games in the world. I hold them to a higher standard. I expected them to be more upfront about this, and I expected their servers not to fail the first few days.

I'll get it over it. But I won't forget it.
