My favorite scene so far in the TV Show (season 1 finale spoilers) - Spot on acting and directing. by ACardAttackin gameofthrones

I guess it just bugs me that the second a woman displays strength, she's automatically ugly.

With the two Mormont men we see on screen, she's way uglier than I expected. They never speak to her beauty in the books that I can remember, just talk about her in mail and boiled leathers like a man, but still...

Had my first caffeine last night by Becky_Booin BabyBumps

[–]hgielrehtaeh 0 points1 point ago

I haven't been drinking caffeine since about 3 months before we conceived, when I went on The BBD (Big Bad Diet) - something I was on while doing insurance pre-certification for bariatric weight loss surgery. Obviously when I got pregnant, I couldn't have the surgery. But it also meant I had been 3 months without caffeine.

Last week, my husband and I made a chocolate french silk pie. The pie contained 8 ounces of bittersweet chocolate, and loving chocolate, we used 85% dark chocolate to really amp up the chocolate flavor. We loved the pie, so, so, so, so much. But, since we cut the pie into 8ths, that meant I was eating a whole ounce of 85% dark chocolate after my dinner. I didn't even think about the fact that it was a caffeine rich food - until I was still awake at 3 am, unable to stop jiggling my foot.

Never Again! by mrsobewanin BabyBumps

Years ago, I bought some "sensitive skin" Nair, and figured I could use that on my nether regions.

I am not sure why, but I went straight for my ass crack. I read the bottle that tingling was a sign it was working or something, or maybe I just figured "Oh, it tingles, it must be removing my ass hair". I didn't worry too bad, but it did say to leave it on for X minutes, and I was sure going to do exactly that. I began to worry as tingling gave way to irritation, which gave way to burning. I ended up on hands and knees in the shower, with the hand held shower head pointed directly at my ass crack for a good long time. Then, I got out of the shower, and even drying my ass crack was painful. So I had to let it air dry. Then I got really worried. I remember putting lots of Vaseline on my burnt ass crack, pulling on a big pair of granny panties, and hoping it would stop burning soon.

It continued burning into the next day, before becoming inflamed and just painful. It hurt to wipe. It hurt to poop. It hurt to fart. Wedgies were a special kind of hell. I remember being at some event at work (a very conservative bank and trust) where I had to use the restroom and reapply my Vaseline, but I didn't have it with me. I remember finding a tube of Carmex in my purse, and squeezing about half of it out that tiny little hole in the top of the tube, and lubing up my ass crack before leaving the stall. Then, for the rest of the night, the cool menthol made my butt uncomfortably burn, but in a cold way.

I never want to relive that pain, ever, ever again.

The suspense is killing me. by karina_notkatrinain BabyBumps

Hahahaha... before pregnancy, that's how I felt... I used to blissfully say, "Our baby will get the best of both of us!" and imagine the most beautiful amalgamation of me and my husband.

Now I'm terrified it's going to get the worst of both me and daddy. My eyesight, his teeth. My wide face, his long face - yes, I fear my baby will have the biggest face known to man. I'm absolutely convinced I'm going to have the ugliest baby ever. When I shared this fear with my grandma, she wrote it off, saying "Biracial babies are always beautiful", but I've seen some pretty weird looking biracial people. I mean, sure, Lenny Kravitz is sexy as it gets in my book, but I've also seen some wonky looking biracial people! I figure it's just like anyone else - there's ugly people of all ethnicities and backgrounds!

Ugh, then I worry that baby is going to get all the worst traits between my family and his - I'm afraid it will have endocrine problems, like me, or addiction issues, like it's daddy's sister. I worry that it will be a total worry wart like it's maternal grandma and great grandma. I worry it'll be an emotionally stunted she-devil like my mother-in-law. I worry it'll be stubborn to the point of frustrating like my dad, or selfish like my husband's dad.

Don't get me wrong, I love this baby lots. And I'll be glad to meet him or her. And I love caressing my belly when it's moving around, and talking to it, and singing to it. I love watching it kicking around, making my belly jerk this way and that. I love how excited all of our friends and family are for us. We tried for over two years to have this baby. I have no idea why I worry about these things...

For lack of better description, they should be like a bagel. Not like a piece of bread shaped to look like a bagel.

The outside should be crisp and firm, the inside should basically be very delicate and almost melt away, with some chew to it. If you've never had a fresh, hot bagel from a real bagel shop, you've likely been eating bagel shaped bread all your life.

Obviously not permanent, and really, anything to keep psychotic Queen Regent Cersei at bay, and show that Joffrey isn't the rightful heir. Ned didn't even want to go south. He wanted to stay home.

And while the Baratheons came from Targ blood, it's not like Robbert took the throne because he was a rightful heir - he took it by force.

So why would you say they would take it out of a sense of duty, again, then?

A duty to whom/what? Ned had a chance to sit the throne and didn't. Robb is "King of the North", not "King of Westeros".

27 newborn American girls named Khaleesi in 2011 by TMWNNin gameofthrones

My aunt, who watches the show, keeps telling me I should name my baby (if it's a girl) Khaleesi. I would consider it if my husband were into ASOIAF too, but he's not.

Oh man oh man oh man, I watched it when it was on Amazon Streaming, but it just showed up on my Netflix and so I'm doing a rewatch. I can't believe how good it is, and how bad it sucks that it got cancelled.

Likely just a strange craving. I thought science showed that cravings usually don't mean you're deficient in something. A girl I know craved bananas dipped in A1 sauce. Weird.

My heart just broke to find out War Su Gai isn't authentic.

Then again, when I went to Chinatown in Chicago, my husband and I would walk around and find the restaurant with the least amount of white people, I don't remember seeing it on the menu... so there's that. I knew, deep down. I knew.

Not a Mexican, but if I want to make a proper taco, I braise a meat (sometimes in a slow cooker because it's easier) and then top with onions and cilantro mixed together. After eating authentic tacos in Chicago for five years, I still can't find an decent one in the small town we moved to - everything is ground beef topped with cheese, tomato, and lettuce. Breaks my heart.
