Well that's the thing, is easier said than done. Telling someone to just get motivated enough to not be shy around girls is like simply telling someone to get over their fear of spiders or what have you. For most guys (of course not all) who are in this situation, approach anxiety and a general lack of conversation finesse is quite a big roadblock and the only advice most other subreddits offer is to just try harder or keep talking to more girls till something happens. that advice is ok but many guys are looking for a more detailed breakdown.

It's like trying to improve your skills as a public speaker. Sure one way is to simply give more speeches and visit r/gemotivated till you're good. Another way is to just go to a speech coach.

Off course it's the individual's responsibility to pick the advice that he thinks is good or works for him. Just like it would be his own responsibility to pick a good speech coach in my example.

This is aside from the fact that "getting laid" is the stereotypical view of sedditors on the rest of Reddit.that's true for some of them but others have different goals. Some are there to find a long term relationship. Others are there to get a better social awareness in general. it's also more recently has some girl sedditors who are there to read into how done guys think. Personally a lot of the advice there has taught me how to be more confident at work and also get more engaged in small talk that previously I always used to think was very banal.
