I don't remember the reason, but it also works with pretty much any vegetable oil, not just fish oil.

I actually agree that he's not trying, I simply wanted to make the point that trying isn't nearly as easy as many of the people here seem to think.

The paychecks for the quality movies can lead to bigger paychecks in the hopes of making more quality movies.

but it's not like a quality comedy script is a whole lot more work or money.

Ummm... wow. It might not necessarily be a whole lot more money, but despite what your friends/family might tell you, writing is hard and you probably suck at it. Comedy writing is harder and you almost definitely suck at it. Most people do. It's not like a guy, even a rich guy, can just wave a stack of bills at an agent and make a script not suck.

And once you have a script, it's even harder to find a director who doesn't suck at realizing the script in a funny way. Do you know why sites like college humor and funny or die exist, and have mostly short videos? Take Funny or Die specifically. There are many famous and talented contributors on that site. There are many reasons why they contribute there, and one of them is because it's a lot easier to start off with short productions, and it's not just because of the budget or work. It's because things that are funny by themselves don't always work in a movie. You can make a movie that's a string of really funny scenes and moments, but still have a shitty movie. And that's if you're even good enough to write the funny moments in the first place.

I don't think I have to go through every single aspect of producing a movie and how each one can kill the humor, but let's say you get a good script, a good re-writing team, good sets and camera work, good directors, good actors, good crew in general, and you set out to make a good movie. The movie can still bomb, audiences can still reject it, even when you've done things right.

The fact is, comedy writing is hard. It's hard enough to tell what a group of people you're standing in front of is going to find funny for 2 hours. Thousands of people in movie theaters? Forget about it. You say it's not much more work to have a good script. I say most of the time, no one's really sure which script is going to be good.

I very rarely eat fast food, so I'm with you, but except for march (during spring break trips it's hard to avoid fast food) every month is fast food free month for me.

Convict conditioning when a pull-up bar isn't available. by get_rhythmin Fitness

I've seen those but I haven't heard good things on reddit about that kind in the past. How does it actually keep itself in place?

I was thinking maybe something like this, that works with the door closed, might work better: http://www.amazon.com/WOSS-Gear-Suspension-Trainer-Manufactured/dp/B005CO5IPQ/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1326137652&sr=8-16

Convict conditioning when a pull-up bar isn't available. by get_rhythmin Fitness

[–]get_rhythm[S] 1 point2 points ago

no garage or attic, I haven't seriously checked the basement because it's a small room that can only be accessed through a trap door in the bath-room (i live in kind of a sketchy place). There is a porch, but it's not strong enough to support the stress from pull-ups.... which is very sad.

Look, I know fittit has trouble accepting a proposition, but my question isn't "can I find a way to do pulls in a pull-up scarce environment?", it's "Barring the availability of a pull-up bar, are there any exercises that can be substituted in until one can be made available?"

It's January and I live in North Dakota. Granted, this is one of the mildest winters ever so far, but it's going to dip below freezing and then below zero really soon. Outside isn't going to be viable until april or may. Besides, I'm not to the point of doing full pull-ups, I'm on step 3, I'd look ridiculous bringing a stool with me to a park to do jackknife pulls.

As for another pull-up bar, if someone can suggest one that works without frameless/uniquely framed doors I can look into it but as I said the doorways are non-standard and i doubt that I'm going to be able to put a pull-up bar up without drilling into the wall and since I'm renting that's not really possible.

tend to be highly correlated with not being a sanctimonious prick

Except on tobacco free college campuses, where smokers tend to be assholes who think it's their duty to litter the ground and scream at anyone who looks at them funny because of their 'persecution'.
