I play about an hour a night (I'm a highsec carebear, mind you) and I have a blast, plus I don't need to worry about waiting for SP!

While some will say it's bad, it's actually great, since if you only play an hour a night you'll always come online to have lots to do, and you'll generally be trying to keep up with your SP (rather then waiting for it like hardcore players.)

Just be aware that everything in the game is designed to take time. It's not like Wow or Rift where you can go run a dungeon in 45 mins. In EVE a level 4 mission (Not hard) can take you over an hour sometimes.

If you're interested in web dev, as in real web dev, programming in javascript etc.... Check out Coffeescript. It compiles directly to javascript, thus can do html5 canvas, webgl, etc. You can also program serverside with node.js.

Honestly the fact that you're even trying is awesome enough. Those are my favorite ships in the game outside of the Tengu (Which I assume would be even harder given the modular designs etc)
