It sounds like the dogs were well cared for. My problem would be if you were euthanizing perfectly healthy dogs, or starving them, which I (probably incorrectly, if so sorry) assumed from your post.

I don't have a problem with lab animals, as long as people are genuinely trying to minimize suffering. What I do object to are psychological cruelty experiments, wounding animals for medics to practice on, etc.

Forget the marks. Focus on getting genuine understanding of the material. It'll pay off in the long term. Marks are just empty numbers, but knowledge is power.

It's hard though, because you've got to avoid the the temptation to just cram temporary formulas into your head for tests.

Bechtel said he had been bullied from the time he was 4 years old until he was in college. His residents bullied him when he was a proctor, or a resident assistant, at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania in fall 1954.

"They would pull my bed into the hall and urinate on it and tell everyone," Bechtel said.

The bullies moved his bed outside of the residence hall and into the quad and urinated on it.

Bechtel also heard a chorus of "Bechtel will eat shit" as he moved through each of the three floors of the hall, he said.

He also said he would be hit and kicked often and always with a crowd of people around to see his mistreatment.

Am I the only person who thinks that people who take joy from this sort of cruelty deserve to be shot?

I'm very much like this. I call it "socially passive". I NEVER organize anything social, just turn up when I get invited to other people's stuff. I have all the friends I want.

The bad thing about this is that I never bothered to pursue girls. Thus I reached my mid 20s and never had a girlfriend. So I started pursuing girls, it was really really awkward and unpleasant but I did manage to have a couple of short term relationships. However I broke them off (I wasn't really into the girls) and am now back to my old self.

It's a bit of a worry but I don't know how to change. Forcing myself to make friends/girlfriends always felt dreadfully insincere and unnatural.

I think I'm intelligent enough to accomplish whatever I put my mind to, but I've realized I have no ambition or passions, and so can't apply my intelligence to anything. That's what I've had to come to terms with.

The solution is to explicitly (but casually) ask her out. Don't be dramatic about it. Just ask her to hang out with you (just the two of you)?

But ask. Do not let it drag on, it's not good for either of you.

Mine aren't weird, as much as very conservative (not politically, but lifestyle-wise).

No drinking allowed. No swearing allowed (not even "bloody" or "fart"). No sports on a sunday, no commercial activity either. No baths (it's "decadent"). No facial hair.

Pro golf. Played occasionally. Decided being a pro would be cool. Started playing and practicing regularly. After a couple of years, I can't even get my handicap to single figures.

Golf is HARD.
