I had to learn that last little bit firsthand, and working with rescue, you'd be surprised at how many people won't pick up their dog from a shelter when they have to pay a penalty, but will damn sure threaten to sue you when you get their animal. Had that happen more than one time.

I have a son, much like you. Hard job market, plus we moved out to the boonies, I just reached the point that I gave him some chores, and he collects an allowance of sorts. Not a lot, but he only has about an hour or two of work a day, and no harping at him in the meantime. So I understand where you are coming from.

Well, it is really more of a common sense thing, I didn't say anything special.

A psychologist is for talking to about anything that is bothering you, even your mother. But usually a psychiatrist is for serious issues needing medication and even hospitalization. But a psychologist? You can even talk to them about being bothered by how people react to your jokes if you want. They are there to help equipt you with tools to deal with the world. It just means you pay someone to talk to you.

It is a shame that your mother doesn't realize that you are dealing with a hard job market, though, for that, I am sorry.

Ehhhh... I can understand how you feel, and where you are coming from.

By the way, props to you for helping him.

But my stand on it comes from having to deal with my various animals over the years that were killed and mauled by dogs who weren't kept contained. The law always stood by the rule that it is the owners responsibility to keep their animal contained, and they are right. Animals don't know better, they are like children in that respect. So the owner has to do whatever it takes to keep their animal safe.

And I hate to say it, but it is entirely possible that the owner hasnt contacted you back because they don't want to deal with any possible vets bills associated with the death of their dog, people are kind of assholes that way.

I feel bad for that little dog, but his owner failed him more than the rest of the world. It was his owner's duty to keep him safe, and the owner failed the dog.

Go. Just go, talk to them, and explain that. Talk to them about anything else that is bothering you as well.

A psychiatrist will tell her that you are reasonably normal, and while a psychologist wouldn't hurt you, that you really don't fall within the guidelines of needing a psychiatrist.

For starters, what I said was more than half in jest. Just the mental image of someone digging through their most recent movement made me chuckle.

I don't know about now, but about 14-15 years ago, my middle boy tripped on my mom's feet, and knocked a front tooth out. He was about 3-4 at the time. But I called his dentist, and he said to dampen a paper towel with milk, wrap the tooth in that, and t have him in at 6am. He also told us to put the wrapped tooth in the fridge for the night. We did, and he was able to implant the tooth.

So back to you, I would wonder if going first through the acids in the stomach, then through the rest of the digestive process wouldn't be enough to kill the root of the tooth. Perhaps you would do better to ask your friends now you lost the teeth, and look in that area. I worry that it has been too long since they came out for them to still be "alive", so to speak.

And I am sorry if you thought what I said was meant to embarrass you. Yes, I did laugh, but more at the mental image than actually at you.

No... You are the one that seems to think that you having one relative with one large dog, and having read one article on the Internet making you a giant breed expert.

Had you truly owned any giant breed dogs, you wouldn't have made the comment you did earlier. Anyone woth or that has ever owned a giant breed knows that you don't have a clue about what you are talking about. If all dogs behaved the same, people wouldn't go through the added expense of giant breed dogs, because even the simplest of surgeries cost exponentially more, due to their sensitivity to the anesthesia that smaller dogs can tolerate. Paying around $2/lb for quality kibbles for them, and the difficulty of transporting them.

There are people like myself that have come to dislike the smaller breeds, just due to the great differences between the base behaviors of them.

100 lbs isn't even close to a giant dog. Right now, I have smallish bullmastiff bitches, one weighing 155, the other at 165. My last male English was 220, the one before that around 230, and I had a male st. That weighed that.

But if you go back a few days on my posting history, you'll see pictures of my last male that I lost at the age of three from a spider bite. I'd link you to it. But I had to drop my computer at the shop today, and I still don't have the knack of doing it right on the iPad yet.

Small dogs act vastly different than large or giant breed dogs. Just like tiny members of the parrot family act vastly different than giant members of the parrot family. Or domestic house cats from the big cats.

Your friend needs to tell the previous owners lawyer to get bent. Had the previous owner been responsible and paid their mortgage payment, none of them would be in this position right now.

Often, you'll find that lawyers will try to buffalo and bullshit you. I think the lawyer is going to try to use him paying rent to establish that you still recognize him as the owner, and that he derives some income off of the house.
