Go read Walter Block. He's done a fine job of explaining how to have roads and other transportation services without putting a gun to anyone's head.

It is exactly the same as 5 guys pitching in together to buy a pizza, they all ate the pizza so they all pay.

Nope, not even close, unless one of those guys has a gun and is forcing everyone else to fork over for pizza, even if they may have wanted a burger instead.

it does not weigh on whether or not taxes are theft.

Taxes are theft by definition: they are taken under the threat of violence.

it does not follow from the fact that the state provides roads and schools that only the state can provide such goods.

That's the key. We had roads and schools for centuries before states decided to control them.

Speaking as one who's dealt with tenants for many years (my parents' retirement investment was rental properties), I think your landlord would probably prefer to let you go than have to deal with massive damage to the apartment from your boyfriend going on a rampage, not to mention the difficult of cleaning the place up if he goes off the deep end and kills your or commits suicide.
