Those people who gave you a hard time are jerks. Wearing hijab is another part of worship that is between us and god. It's really none of their business. None of us are perfect anyway. Those people who gave you the dirty look have their own shortcomings.

Try to surround yourself with people who are supportive. I know some community are judgmental like that, whether it's muslims or other religion. Stay strong and don't hurt yourself. Find support.

I'm going to repeat my point that you seem to miss. In regards to the afterlife, it is between you and god. We are not to judge since we don't even know what truly is in a person's heart. Only god and the person know. This is exemplified by the prophet himself where his closest uncle, Abu Thalib, is a non believer. They were close until the day Abu Thalib dies and the prophet was mourning for him.

There's a chance that you may still insist on the belief all muslims are out there the get you, that's up to you. While we're giving each other the worst assumption, I should watch my back also since atheists value my belief as inferior and bound for extinction. If they hold that idea, it surely will surface in their interaction with me.

OK, I have similar question as logical1ty that I wrote in this thread. Just bear with me.

As a believer, I don't have a say in what judgement god made for us. I do not wish or let anything happen to a non-believer. So, why is it a problem? ESPECIALLY, since you don't believe in the whole thing in the first place.

It's like this; if someone say to me that Santa has something for me this year, I'm not gonna hold my breath over it. If a person of another religion tells me that I'm going to go to hell for being a muslim, it's not gonna bother me either. Because I'm pretty comfortable with my own belief.

I'm only going to share my thought on your heaviest point.

I don't approach religion as part of science. It's never been scientific. And I accept that. Science is only part of us mankind and has its limitation.

Instead, I see Islam as one part history and another part is spiritual (read: faith). So, I do choose to believe it. If I may refer to the various story in Quran and hadith in regard to faith, there's no evidence of god acceptable to a person that simply don't have faith.

I have looked closely and found that Islam provides a reliable historical source of what happened during the prophet's time as opposed to other branch of Abrahamic religion. To be considered a narrator of one hadith, one has to be an EXTREMELY reliable person. So, for me to ignore Islam's validity, I would have to believe in the biggest conspiracy without any historical evidence to support it.

I truly can't bring myself to believe that.

It's interesting how we are kinda similar (in sincerety) and different (in conclusion) at the same time.
